The Anne Marbury Hutchinson Foundation was formed through the common awareness among descendants that the 425th anniversary of AMH’s birth and baptism represented more than just an opportunity for a birthday party. It was a potential catalytic opportunity to both advance the story of Founding Mother Anne Hutchinson in the minds and hearts of future generations and reach beyond one DNA strand. It was a challenge to embrace and celebrate the lives of other marginalized, yet courageous women in our national story.
Born out this awareness, the Founding Mothers Celebration™ is a collaborative, learning-event series organized by a number of similarly-aligned, history-loving nonprofits. The Founding Mothers Celebration‘s inaugural year theme centers on the life and example of Puritan outcast and New World-changer, Anne Marbury Hutchinson (b.1591, d.1643). The purpose is to both highlight her nation-shaping contributions and springboard enthusiasm for celebrating the lives of our nation’s other courageous founding mothers—role models and mentors from our past.™
